What we need
- A header (wordmark, issue name or date), on paper or white.
- A single-column body that reads on a phone: Bricolage-like body with safe fallbacks, Polyamine only as an image if the email client can't load it.
- Section blocks: new releases, a featured essay or episode, gatherings, opportunities.
- Buttons in ink. Images captioned like plates.
Email is constrained
Most email clients ignore web fonts and modern CSS, and Substack controls much of the layout. Expect to use images for display type, inline styles, and system font fallbacks. Check what the sending platform (Substack or other) allows before designing.
